As questions have come up with the new SMV system there is a delay with getting a reply from DHSS. I am sure they are swamped and most likely we all have many of the the same issues/questions. If you all learn something new with SMV can you please share here on the bulletin board? Hopefully that will help us all as we work through this new system. Here are some of our questions. When we get a response I will share with you. Thank you!

Can only the Primary VFC provider enter inventory into the new Show Me Vax?
What about the back up? Is that something that we can change as needed like when the Primary is on vacation and reconciliation needs to be done by the back up?
Do you have to approve that?

Can you also tell me how the Clinic Vaccine Defaults need to be set up? I’m not sure what to choose for example: We can choose (all), on-hand, depleted/expired, expiring soon.

I believe that as long as your staff have access to the Inventory tab on the left hand side of SMV, they should be able to enter inventory. All of my staff, including myself, did not have access to Inventory or Clinic Tools when we first logged into the new system. This was corrected after a phone call and now we all have access. Two of us entered all of the storage units and data loggers as well as connect the calibration certificates. Two staff have been entering our on hand inventory this afternoon. I don’t believe that you need to approve it as long as they have access to the correct sections under their username. We are just entering the information under “Add New Inventory” under the “On Hand” “Inventory” Once you enter your inventory into the system, it should filter which are on hand, depleted/expired or expiring soon.

This is what we are doing. We will adjust if we find out that we need to do something differently.

    Hope this helps,

Does anyone have temperature monitors that are compatible with the new SMV? Have you tried uploading temperatures? What is the process to do so? Thanks, Donna
