KeymasterI personally have a Google Nexus 7. I use mine at home constantly especially for videos. If I were in your position make sure that the website you want to use for nutrition online will work in Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari as tablets do not typically run Internet Explorer. We bought some DELL Venue for off site stuff but we don’t utilize very often. IF I wanted a NEW tablet for my personal use I would stick with my Google Nexus and if there wasn’t too much price difference go with a bigger display. There are some MS Surface tablets but not sure of price. I find that Best Buy for Business is sometimes cheaper than other online stores.

KeymasterWe were awarded wic enhancement grant dollars for a tablet. The tablet i had requested was an ipad with the otterbox, thinking of its need to be “tough”. They cut my budget to $400 and said to google best tablets under $400. I haven’t used any of these. Options are Samsung Galaxy, Google Nexus, Kindle Fire… Our idea was to try the online nutrition program.
Does anyone have any suggestions?June 3, 2015 at 9:40 am #31575Missouri Public Health Association
KeymasterA Google Nexus 9 is $399.00. I would add a Unicorn Beetle Pro Case for $15.00 for protection. We have two of these with these cases. They replaced two aging ipads and I didn’t want to pay the price for new ipads. We have been very happy with them.

KeymasterOur WIC program uses the Samsung Galaxy Tab S, with the 8″ screen. Further, our EPHS’s have been utilizing Samsung Galaxy Note’s with 10.1″ screens, as have our Clinic staff, for several years now for electronic inspections, etc., and find that they work well. They enjoy the Android platform as it seems a lot less restrictive than the Apple iOS, and you have many options and sizes available in your price range. All of our devices have protective cases designed for their individual use, but there are unlimited case choices available in many price ranges. Don’t forget screen protector sheets if the case you select does not include one. Best of luck!

GuestWe are getting the Samsung Galaxy tablet with our enhancement funds and we are purchasing a floor stand/kiosk that we can place it in so it doesn’t walk out the front door.

GuestWe purchased both from Sprocket Technologies in Kirksville and they synced our tablet with our new smart TV and we installed a kiosk app that only allows certain sites to be accessed. The app is Mobilock. The model of the tablet is Samsung Galaxy Tablet 4 SM.
